Rubicon in Canada $$

Attention Canadians: Time to gripe to Honda. Have you priced out a Rubi yet? In the States, both the Sportsman 500HO and the Rubi list out at $6999. In Canada the Sportsman is $8999 and the Honda is $10,499! (unofficial) My choice for a new ATV is the Rubicon, but why the difference in price? I phone Honda's customer service and complained but don't think anything will come of it. If you feel the same, please contact honda and leave a post here - they may actually read this forum!

I agree it's a lot of money and I've decided to keep my 2000 Big Bear Se, but money wasn't the only reason. I bought my wife a new 2001 Fourtrax 350 ES (Rancher in the US) 5 months ago and now is being recalled for two different issues, I don't think there is any reason for an atv in it's second year of production being involved in 2 (maybe more to come) recalls. This is the main reason there won't be a new Rubicon in the garage sitting next to the Fourtrax, needless to say I'm disappointed with Honda, not to mention the Dealer dosn't even have the parts to do the recalls!!! I would recommend waiting a couple of years on the Rubi I think that there will be issues with it also.

You better call Polaris too!$8990 for a 01 Sportsman? They sell them for $8400 here and the Honda dealer wants $9999 for the first Rubicons that will shortly come in.It is not Honda that is trying to rip people off,it is the Canadian dealers counting on people wanting the first batch of Rubicons no matter what the cost.Wait untill spring and you will get a newer 02 Rubicon for $1000 less than the 01 Rubicons the suckers on the waiting lists will be getting soon.

Isn't it usually the fall before the next year models arrive? After waiting for over a year for this thing I hate the thought of waiting another 9 -10 months, (fall 2001) more. On the other hand, waiting 2 months, (spring 2001) for $1000 less and the new 2002 model might be worth considering. ... oh well, you know what they say ... No price on fun!!!
