Default does anyone know

today I had my cylinder checked..it was only 2 thousands off...so am i all set with the standard piston or should i bore and go over size..but my ring gap was 18 thousands

was that .018" with the new rings or the old ones. Its a little wide for new ones, but not bad for old ones. If the cylinder was less then .005 over it is usable.

please bear with me..when I put the new ring in the cylinder (just the ring) there was .018 where the ends meet..I cant remembr what the cylinder bore was...but will use these nubers so u no what im taling about...He took 6 reading all over the cylinder..so like one was just sat .035 the other .034 and .036 and so on ..034...035..036 well there was only .003 diff over all

.018 is usable, but I bet is close to the service limit. the other measurements he was taking was for overall bore and out of round.
