LOL, some of you crack me up. Slow to catch on, but yet sales are 2nd to none? Please explain.[img][/img]...[img][/img]

And if you don't like them, buy something else and quit reading these threads.[img][/img]</end quote></div>

It's just a good thing for Honda that consumers are slow to catch on as well, not to mention have no problem paying top dollar for machines that last forever because they were designed 10 years ago.

Honda has managed to take the crown from Polaris...The ugliest high-performance atv availible. Next to this thing a Pred/Outlaw looks downright attractive. I mean c'mon, what the heck were they thinking when they designed that front end? Giant wing fenders mated with a cheap flimsy radiator grill that borders the bumper below, headlight above, and those bat wing fenders on the side? I just hope all that stuff is removable like the 450R fenders, that might make it reasonable to look at.

11" rear wheels? Are the many types of ITP holeshot, Maxxis Razr and Kenda Klaw/knarly availible in 11" rim diameters right now? I'm guessing they couldn't get the clearance they needed with a 10" but that means they should have gone back to the source of the issue (the rear end geometry) instead of band-aiding the problem with odd sized rear wheels. I know Honda is fond of 11" rear wheels but that's on utility quads and it's a PITA on those machines as well. I guess if all you want is a mud/ute tire on the back then the 11" wheel won't be an issue.

This machine has it's positive points and I'm very happy to see Honda finally took a crack at the big bore market. After all it's only been 8 years since the first big bore, something this ugly takes time. As was said by others, throw this engine in a worthy SRA chassis and it'll be a contender. I was a honda man all my life until the beginning of the decade when the big bores left honda behind. I'd re-assimilate myself with my honda roots if they could make something I wanted, in fact I'd love to be a Honda man again. But this machine won't do it for me and I've got a suspicion that many, many others will feel the same way, especially with the near 8k dollar price tag.

let them build it. with all the other boring machines they spit out.</end quote></div>To bad they are number 1 in sales of Atv. Also helps they have a crap load of 5 speed trannys instead of rubberband trannys.</end quote></div>

And why do rubberbands beat them? First in sales but last in shootouts is all I read.

Honda last, 5 speed and all

Last one more time.

Had a 450 Foreman it was dull,no disputing it. Shifting it was as thrilling as sleeping with your own wife.

Yamaha kept a 5 speed in there lineup because a 5 speed out sales a auto 5 to 1 in ten states.
Personally I'd buy a Yamaha Big bear or a 5 speed Eiger , before I'd buy a 420 Rancher. I also know two Honda mechanics who agree with me on the above choices. Not saying that Honda is the best , but again sales don't lie.
As for as sleeping with my wife. You would have a better chance of gettin a blow job from a rattlesnake or pulling you head out of your rear and getting some fresh air. Don't see that happening in this life time.

You need some reading comprehension lessons. It meant sleeping with a persons own wife, not yours (a way of saying "Boring") get it now? Better buy up all the 5 speed utilities you can be cause at the rate they are being discontinued there will not be any made soon enough, which is strange for something thats so superior.

Well being as it's a Honda even if it is a 700 it probably wont keep up with the Outlaw. Doesnt excite me much and the next quad i buy will be a sport bike with IRS, looks like I'm sticking with the Outlaw, what a shame?

Does the raptor even keep up with the outlaw? I haven't ridden a 525 yet, but i've heard the outlaw is faster. If thats the case, the new honda being a 700 doesn't guarantee it being faster than the 525.

My buddy called me this morning to thank me for buying a big bore Yamaha, so Honda could finally put out theirs. I now look at these photo's and the info.

My Raptor has nothing too worry about and I say bring it, slomoe.

A 500 pound 2wheel drive utility quad, without good shocks?

What many of you on here don't realize or seem to appreciate is how much more easily it goes over very difficult terrain. Of course there are advantages with an SRA in the dunes. There is a huge market for IRS sport quads out there, it just depends on how versatile you are about where you ride. An IRS quad is far superior to a SRA quad on rough technical rutted out rocky trails. Those of you who spend 90% of your time in the Dunes think that's all people do with Quads. Trust me, you're the limited population of ATV riders. By the way, my Renegade can be pitched sideways almost as easy as a 660 Raptor if not as easy, which by the way doesn't have a solid rear axle either.
