Default honda rancher

rear end is making a wineing noise but still goes and nothing is sliping any clue to what is making the noise?

What year and model Honda Rancher? Have you checked the oil level in the rear final drive or drained it to see what the oil looks like? This is the first thing I would check.

does it make this noise in all the gears? My 2005 makes a whining sound from the trans only in 5th gear, my 2004 did the same thing, if that's what you're finding it's probably normal. If it does it all the time, you might have a gear meshing problem in there, might be time for the shop

well what happened is my u joint got messed up and when i took the bike all down comes to find out that i had metal in my rear end so i cleaned it all out and put it back together with some new fluid in it and now it makes this noise just wondering what it could be?

2003 honda rancher 350

you probably about to loose your differential bearings, you should replace them before they go completely, or it could do a lot more damage. there are 4 bearings in there, and all should be replaced together.

i checked up on the bearings and all i see is 3 where is the 4th at?

there are two on the axle, and the other two are on the pinion gear shaft.
there are 3 roller bearings and one needle bearing.
