07 450r bog down

[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] even after i start my quad and its warmed up when im ideling if i just punch the gas it will bogdown and sometimes kill it....its completly stock.. say if im rollin in first gear even at decsecnt rpms and punch it, then it will bog for a second then take off, it doesnt just go like i know it should.. it does it in 1st and 2nd gear...once im in shifting through gears it doesnt do it. only low gear take offs like when im drag racing.. im guessing its some time of jetting problem or maybe more airflow... please help b/c im bout to take it back to dealer and i would like to tell them some of yalls opinions thank you

These things are jetted at the factory to meet emissions standards. Mine did similar things. After the HRC kit, an aftermarket exhaust, and a rejet it is superb....rip your arms off acceleration, with no bogs.

i have a 2007 450er and it does the same thing i ordered a hmf exhaust and a jet kit so ill let you know it its the fix. but i have a question for you does it make a chatter sound at low rpms because mine has the same sympthoms. but makes a chater sound at the same time.

well if the chatter sound is what i think your talking about then yes... i think the chatter your talking about is just when your in low rpm b/c the engine is race machine its meant to have rpm... if thats what your talkin about. its kind like the engine is kinda jerky and make that chick chick chick sound? b/c i think that is just low rpms and the engine wants a lil more go

and recon ranger... ya how about that hrc kit... i just got my 450r like 2 weeks ago and im kinda worried if i should go in the enigine.. do you feel that the cam took away any reliablity from your 450... cause i want to get it but not to sure if im going to end up spending alot of money in the long run.. and in your opionion did it really pump the beast up?

Go for the HRC kit. It won't hurt the reliability at all.
I have an '04 450R and while I didn't get the HRC kit I installed a 480 big bore kit, Hotcam Stage II, port and polish head, Uni filter and I have an FMF Q2 which I will be removing and installing a Yoshimura full system this weekend.
The quad absolutely rips now! I love it!
And the top end chatter you hear at low rpm's is normal.

The clunking sound isn't really a "bog", it is just that this engine needs to rev and never lug...
The HRC kit will give you mostly more top end. If you are a trail rider, then it is probably unnecessary. There is some speculation that it may shorten valve life, but all my friends have HRC's with 200+ hours on them and nobody is even close to needing a rebuild.
At the very minimum, get an EHS Racing airbox lid and uncork the muffler (or just get an aftermarket setup), and a rejet an you are good to go.

ya i actually just got a hmf sport series slip on... but i havent put it on yet b/c i took my quad in to the shop for some maintance... but once i get it back in a few days im putttin the pipe on... on the hmf website it has the jettin suggestions for each quad but do actaully have to buy a jet kit or can i just adjust the stock stuff? ive never jetted anything... and recon ranger how does that airbox lid run? and it wont allow alot of nasty stuff in my airbox will it?
