yes, the crank assembly is pressed together, there is no connecting rod 'cap' like automobiles have. you'll have to remove the engine, split the case and remove the crankshaft assembly and bring it and the new rod/bearing kit to a small engine or powersports shop with the right equipment and have it done. make sure you have someone check the length of the new rod compared to the old one to make sure they are the same... i had a nasty hiccup with a 2-stroke 3 wheeler when i replaced the connecting rod with one that was 1/4 inch shorter.
