All my buddies say my 400ex hooks up so much better than their quads and we don't know if it is the stock ex tires or the bike. So I was wondering if anyone has had these kind of tires on their quads and how they preformed. The tires are m/r 501 Ohtsu.

The Ohtsu has always been a good traction tire,in fact many MX pros still use them. As a little trivia, the original 250R came stock with them just as your 400ex does. The one big fault with them is the extremely thin sidewall. Not a problem in well groomed MX tracks, but not a suitable tire for cc or desert racing due to the fragility of the sidewall. Of course pro riders usually don't pay for tires or can easily afford to use new ones for each race, so durability isn't a concern.

I found that the Ohtsu's seemed to slide a little better than the Holeshots I've got now. The stockers would slide as far as I wanted them to, while the Holeshots only want to go so far before they grab and throw me out of the turn.
