im fairly new to the sport. i have always been a Honda dirtbike owner and am now switching over to wheelers. im just wondering weather i want to buy a TRX or an EX. please let me know the difference.

Sport Quads: The EX originally meant it had electric start, and they are all called TRX now (use to be called Fourtrax a few years back). So, the TRX400EX is basically the XR400 engine with the push button starter. There is also a TRX300EX, TRX250EX, and a TRX90EX.

They strayed from the old theme with the TRX450R and TRX450ER. The 450, is basically the CRF450X engine in a quad. You can get it with either a kick start or electric.

Now where is the TRX700XX. Not sure what is going on with that???

Utilities: Use to be called Fourtrax...and still are.

 

also not to sure what your asking but if your like talking between and trx450 and 400ex. the differences are the 450 has a better race engine and suspestion where the 400ex has a engine that can make power in the low rpm range which is a lot better for trail riding where the 450 engine makes most of its power in the higher rpm range. so i guess if you ride tight trails get the 400ex and if you do alot of desert/track riding i whould get the trx450r
