I put it in gear it will go for a sec then it just quites pulling shift through all the gears it trys. any sugestions

 

Time for a new clutch and clutch cable, maybe?

 

Face it, it's a 99 so it is way overdue for a new clutch anyway!

The magazines criticized the early EX's for having weak clutches, but mine is an 00 (that I bought in 99) and it still has the original clutch, so once again the magazines don't know what they are talking about.

 

Yeah, my 400ex is and '00 also and still has the original clutch.
I just replaced the clutch in my 450R this week.
