Looking at an 04 450r
Hey, I am looking for a new to me four wheeler, In my area there is a 2004 450r for sale, he wants $4500, but if I could get it for $4000 cash, oh man it seems tempting (Located in Canada.)
I was wondering though if it is a good deal, I have tried to find comparative prices around Canada, but can not find any 2004's for sale, only 05's and 06's.
The bike is in Mint Condition, 4 new tires, DG front bumper, and rear grab bar. The oil was changed every 10 hours.
So any insight would be appreciated, I want to move onto the sport quads, and I think this is the bike I want.
I will be doing trailing riding, hill climbing, and hitting jumps, and going out to the track with my friends.
Thanks =D

These are great machines! Did a big desert ride on my 04 this weekend.
What about the motor??? Did they keep up on valve adjustments??? Any motor mods??? This enigne really benefits from the HRC kit, which will give you more top end. I went with an FMF PowerBomb header, which helps on the low end.
Mine is geared down one tooth in front, but even geared down it is miserable on a tight, slow trail! This engine likes to rev, so it is a machine for open country, not tight trails...lots of miserable clutch slipping required...no thanks....

Oh well, I like reliability haha
It seems plenty fast for me, I'm used to my Suzuki Eiger haha.
It's all stock right now, next summer I'll probably put a pipe on it and mod the airbox and any thing else I can think of that is worth while for me.
Pretty stoked right now.

Way to go!
I kept my '04 stock for about 8 months now it's a 480 with a ported and polished head, full Yoshimura system, Hotcams stage II, Uni filter and open airbox.
Now it has plenty of power for me!
I didn't do all the mods at once so I could see how much power each additional mod made.
