I ride wide open desert, and still I geared it down to a 13 in front. I'll give up some top end speed for acceleration any day!
Highly recommend the HRC kit. It is the best mod you can do, at the best price. It will however net you mostly top end. For more low end, run an FMF PowerBomb Header (MegaBomb if they have one).
