Rubicon in the cold weather
#11
I live in southern Ohio so it can get as cold here as it does anywhere else in the country. Last year there was a string of really cold days (sub-zero temps). Strangely enough, on one of those really cold days (about 5 degress F or so), it snowed. I bought the Rubicon at the tailend of summer in 2006 and bought a plow for it. I sold the Polaris Magnum I had shortly after (which was used as the workhorse up until then). Five months later, the Rubicon wouldn't start in order to plow the drive. I keep the Rubicon at my Dad's house so he can use it to plow his driveway in the winter. When it didn't start that day, Dad was on the phone chewing me out over it telling me I should never have replaced the Polaris because "it started everytime". I couldn't argue. The Polaris never had cold starting problems even after sitting for weeks at a time. Luckly, he had a snow blower as a backup or else I would have been over there helping him shovel it by hand (and it's a long driveway).
This winter, I want to make sure the Rubicon is going to start so I don't get anymore of those "angry Dad" phone calls.
