Bolt pattern?
#1
I've found out the hard way that not all honda's are the same. And that every resource including my own honda manual and the internet is wrong. This is regarding my 86' honda 200sx. It is not a 4/110 like everything says. Guess you can't trust everything you read!
I went and purchased a set of new 10" front steel rims. To replace the bent to heck stockers. Just to find out they don't fit. Now my question is what is my bolt pattern? I measured it and it looks to be 4/88. Does that sound right and a standard wheel size?
Thanks!

I dont know of anyone who ever offered wheels for that model. And you are right, they aren't 4/110.
I dont remember what the pattern was exactly but they were used on the 200SX, the older shaft drive 200, and the 85-87 TRX250 that was based off the BigRed....all on the front wheels. I do remember running into some old model Yamahas that also carried the same pattern, but their wheels dont have the offsets needed to clear the Honda hubs because Yamaha mainly used smaller wheel diameters anyway.
Depending on which brand wheel you have bought, you might be able to just have the wheels drilled. Any local machine shop should be able to properly do this for you if you take to them the hub as well.
If that is not an option, try locating a 1990-1997 TRX200 at a scrap yard and yank the spindles and hubs. They will bolt right onto your 200SX and they have the 4/110 pattern. Do keep in mind however if you do this swap, that you will not have front brakes without either taking the whole system from the later model 200 or jury rigging some lines to work with the different wheel cylinder assemblies.
