2002 TRX250EX rear brakes

Hello, I had just prcuhased a 2002 TRX250EX. The rear brakes do not work. Is there something I can look at to see if it is a simple fix before bringing it to someone. I am not mechanically inclined, so the simpiler the better. Thanks

Not enough info. Disc or Drum, cable or rod etc...... Dennis
