okay i get what your saying, there should be a flat head bolt, with a nut, and loosin the nut, not the screw, tighten the screw slightly, leave a little play, then tighten the nut back against the bolt, put it together and start it? on the diagram it says there are two of these, one on the front and one on the back, is that what you mean?

I DONT MIND THE BOTHER WHEN YOU TAKE BOTH THE BIG SCREAWS OUT YOU SHOULD HAVE A 1 WAY SCREW WITH A BOLT ON IT LOOSEN THE BOLT..... FIRST SEE IF YOU HAVE ALLOT OF FREPLAY IN THE TAPPER IF YOU DO THAT IS MORE IN LIKLY YOU PROBLM IF YOU DO UNDO THE BOLT SCREW THE NUT IN A LITTLE BIT YOU DONT WANT NO FREE PLAY MY DIRT BIKE I DIDNT MAKE IT TO WEAR IT HAS FREE PLAY WELL SCREAW THOSE SCREAW IN TILL THERE IS NO MORE FREE PLAY THAN TIGTIN THE NUT BACK UP AND PUT IT BACK TO GEATHER AND SEE WHAT SHE DOSE

when you say bolt, do you mean nut? " A 1 WAY SCREW WITH A BOLT ON IT LOOSEN THE BOLT" so there should be a 1 way screw, with a nut on it, hold the screw so it does not move with a flat head, and take a wrench and loosin the nut a little bit, tighten the screw until the play is gone, then tighten the nut back against the screw? and i should have to do this on both sides? again thanks alot. i was beginning to think my engine is going out. if this is just the problem, your a life saver!
