help with the honda trx300-s
#24
my son has a honda trx300ex 1997. i need some help please. what are the 2 wires on the solenoid that lead to a conector? we think the solenoid is bad, not sure. we bought a universal solenoid, but know where on that one to connect te two small wires that are actually built into the original solenoid. can this universal work? and how. is this correct----- if you cross a screw driver on the solenoid and it starts the quad, when the starter switch wont, does this mean the solenoid is bad?

your timing chain is wore out. if u take the chain tentioner off and it is all the way out and it goes in without adjusting your tentioner back then its most definatly you timing chain. the looser it is the loader it will nock. just to make shure it is the timing chain. take the tentioner off and stick a screw driver in the hole where the tentioner was. make shure u keep a little tention on the chain while holding the screw driver in the hole and try having somebody else start it if the noise goes away than thats what the problem was. only keep it started for a few seconds just 2 test it. warning oil will come out when it running so wear old gloves.
