Take your grand and make a down payment on some thing that you will want to ride as long as you will be paying on it. At 6'4 200lb, youll need a full size bike like a 400ex,raptor,banshee,quadzilla,250R,etc. Don't waste a grand on something you will regret buying in 2wks. It is easy to get financed when you hace a grand cash. I say go for the reliable 4 stroke so you don't have to worry about working on it(honda400ex,yamaha raptor) Go getem

Best thing to do like everyone else said is either save up more money for a better used quad or go and put down your 1k on a new quad and make payments.

Good luck with what you decide.

Just because you have bad credit, you could still get approved for a loan. You may not get the best interest rate, but I am sure some institution will lend you the money.

Give a few banks a call. Try them all if you have to.

Maxx

If you are looking for an ATC, a few of my buddies have been picking up 200x's and 250r three wheelers for $700-$1,000. They are not in bad shape either. They will generally need some minor work, but most of the wear and tear is just cosmetic. If you are looking for a four wheeler, you will need to pay a lot more for anything in good shape. A guy at work just sold a good condition 86 (I think) 200x four wheeler for $2,200. Most 4 wheelers in at least decent shape around here go for at least $2,000. If you find one for less than that, look for something wrong with it. If I was you, I would try to get something financed. This will allow you to get something better and rebuild your bad credit.

thx for the replies.

i bought an 89 blaster for my son. it looks great and runs great. it was a 2 owner first was a women second a friend. i know my friend hardly rode it and was told the lady hardly did either.
its still riding on the stock tires. he wanted 1500.00 i offered 1200 and the deal was made. the only thing wrong with it are some scratches in the plastic. so if you look hard enough deals can be found. the problem with me is i find the deals when i have no cash left . heheheh

a grand will get you an ATC. Look in the paper they are usually the cheapest in winter. I got an 83 for 300 bucks and it fouled plugs bad. I ajusted the air screw and it ran much better.

Remember just because its expensive doesn't mean it will last longer.
