Default update 2001 Rubicon

I am about 50 miles shy of 8000 miles and we have just over 950 hours on our 2001 Rubicon.

So far I have replaced both upper control arm shafts, bushings and seals. I have also replaced the left rear wheel bearing the rear hand brake cable and I am on our 3rd set of tires.

We went riding New Years day and I noticed the seat is starting to crack, maybe it was below freezing temperatures - a new one is only about $70.

The brakes still look new and it still has the original battery.

Regular oil changes, coolant changes and valve adjustments I'm sure contribute to this being one great ATV, that and it's a Honda.

Excellent. With the theads about trouble codes and stuff, it's nice to hear from someone with a more typical Rubicon experience.

8000 miles Can be said on any forum except Chinese ATVs. We have a 97 Sportsman 500 with 7500 miles which still runs like new. I had a Yamaha 89 Big Bear 350 ,it had no hour or trip meter but if I had to guess I think it had like a zillion miles on it. My friend bought it and still runs it around.

Reliability is not Honda's personal domain any longer.

In 8000 miles I have spent less than $150 in repairs and have never seen it flash a code.

We ride with many different brands, they are all getting better.
