The only one on 400ex I could find, was for the 05/06
Specific Information Regarding the Honda ATV Recall

The product involved in the recall is about 24,000 Honda Model Year 2005 and 2006 TRX400EX All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). According to the CPSC news release a safety defect could exist in the transmission that could allow the rider to unintentionally engage reverse gear while moving forward, which could lock the rear wheels and cause the rider to lose control.

If you bought used the original owner should have received a recall notice in the mail, that's how I found out.
