New owner of a fourtrax 300 4x4
#1
I just got a 94 fourtrax 300 4x4 on saturday. I have not had much time to ride it but it seen like a nice little bike. The red is faided into a pink color. Can this be repainted? The bike had a lot of parts replsace. cv axils, front bearnings, all braks, rear shock, seat, front brake cable, a something to the rearend, adjusted vavles. All the lights work. The tires look perty good.
I did test drive an 06 350 4x4 rancher. I liked it alot. I think I am going to save up some money and try to get a 420 4x4 sometime.
Has anyone used one of these for spraying? Will it run hot? Or should I try to put a fan on it? Probably will not do a great deal of spraying just do not want to cause any damage to it.

If it is in could condition at all, the heat will not bother than bullet proof motor although Honda did use to sell a fan kit for it. I have an 88 300 with "pink" 94 plastic on it. I have never tried to paint it, I give mine an occasional coating of chemical resistant clear coat and like the way it looks. I have used Krylon Fusion on black plastics and have been very pleased. I see a TON of people who say Krylon fusion is crap but 99% of them do not follow the directions on the can and then they blame the paint for not holding up. When I did mine i wet sanded over the plastic with the mildest sandpaper they make. VERY VERY mild. Then I cleaned it with mineral spirits. After it was good and dry I sprayed several coats allowing the proper time between each coat. Then I let the bike sit for about 6 days and 14 hours without being moved for anything. (The can says 7 days) No problems yet! (knock on wood)

you dont need a fan at all, that ole fourtrax is bullet proof all the way and will probally not over heat, its tough as nails Ive let mine idle at a 5mph crawl in 105 degreeheat and never once did it over heat
