suggestions on shocks

I have asked this before but here goes
who makes good Harescramble/XC shocks?
I am looking at works, My price range it about 1,300 for a whole set. 400ex fronts, and 300ex rear.
i was thinking about Works with cans and works ultracross rear...
I figure i will need them soon, my first race is March 18th. I can't afford them now.
Will my stock shocks hold up good? Its a harescramble. I've been told after the race the shocks will get so hot that they will start leaking and be pretty much shot.
I dunno though?

I agree. Aftermarket suspension is the most important change you can make too "any" ATV. You can have all of the power in the world, but if the machine is beating you too death it doesn't do you much good.
Shock performance and quality is directly related too the price. The more you spend, the more you get. WORKS performance will be a step-up from stock shocks. But if your serious about racing XC, save your money and purchase a "higher" quality unit.
High end shocks are made with bigger compenents and out of better materials. They are 10X more adjustable, have better customer support, and come with a technical manual too help you understand how the shock works, how too adjust it, and how too service your suspension yourself.
If your a recreational rider and part-time racer, WORKS performance will be great for you. If your planing on racing a full season and competing for points. Get a "high-end" suspension product.
