how to test a coil

plug a multimeter to the leads from the coil. find the positive wire, put the red side of the multimeter in the wire, and put the black wire from the multimeter to a ground. set it to 12v. check manual for coil specs

i dont know how to set it to 12 volts i have a fluke 77 series 11 mustimeter
