Default 2004 Honda Foreman ES

While I still have power to the thumb switch,while riding in the snow......no noise or anything....4-wheel drive quit working. This is the first and only thing to ever happen to this machine. It is used weekly on cattle. Clymers showes nothing on this.......

I think the 4x4 light should flash a code. Does it?

Thanks for the reply..no codes at all. Any other ideas. Would reall hate to take it to the dealer in San Luis Obispo

I presume it's the front that won't engage, and not a problem with the back end???

There have been several posts lately about the splines on the rear drive shaft stripping on the older Foremans, that's why I ask....

It is the front that will not engage....i noticed it this past Saturday while on level ground in 8" of snow the front was not engaging.

Default 2004 Honda Foreman ES

Have you checked for power from the thumb switch to the diff?. Are the fuses OK?. Diff connector contacts clean, with no corrosion or gunk on either the connector contacts or the diff pins; with a tight connection?.
