Yes i have a 2002 440ex, i bought a new battey. then rebuilt my motor to the 440. and when doing so, it took me 6 months to build it. so the battey satup for 6months with out running. By saving up money and painting my frame. when done. I put it back together. it started right up everytime for about a week. now i have a problem it will crank up when i go riding, about 2 times or so, then stop to bull **** with the guys on the trails and go to start it again it trys to turn over then does a clicking nose from the starter relay. iv cleaned all the tremals and made sure all wires were good and hooked up.

jus fixed mine...its either a battery, relay, or connection. i would start with the battery if its clicking. that most of the time is the sound of a good relay, but bad battery.

if the batterys good it will start. after a while if your coil is bad it will drain your battery. then cause it not to start later. but if it starts later then you got sum kind of pull on your battery!

Look for another cylinder on eBay and don't bore it to 80 over. That is what caused the cylinder to crack, bored too thin.
