Yes it is true your bike not does not have brake lights. It does have tail lights. 2001 to 2004 models do not have brake lights. I don't know why they are like that, it is stupid. I don't know about a module. Someone else can answer that.

As far as a winch, I have a Venom 3000 pound winch installed on mine. I have not had any problems with it. They are alot cheaper than Warn winches.

We've installed 100's of these from approx. 2000 until Honda starter installing them .. Some Canadian provinces laws required brake lights .. If you have to order the pieces separately I would just order the parts you really need .. Like the handle bar wire harness & switches etc. .. Myself I HATE the mickey mouse brake light, I'd use the original tail lights and install LED's inside them ..

I have a Honda part kit for the Rancher 350 (from Canada). It isn't the same exact kit (it was suppose to be for a Rubicon), but it has the microswitches, the light, and a short harness. I have planned to put it on ebay. Just PM me and I'll let you know when it is listed. I paid almost 100, looking to get 1/2 that.

All the brake switches are the same part number, for the front brake lever. Just order one of those, and get a good used led tail light off ebay. Any will work, but the new led taillight/brakelight off of a 07/08 300ex or 250ex is really nice and bright and easy to mount and wire. Just run a fused (1or 2 amp fuse)hot wire to the switch, and from the other side, to the light, and then from the light to ground. Also hook up the tail light, and it looks pretty professional. If you want to hook up the brake light to the rear lever...the best thing ive found is a hydralic pressure switch, which replaces the banjo bolt, on a brake line. Its got 2 wires and wire them up the same as the front switch.
I did those mods to my 400ex, and it works just great.

So does this apply to other Honda models as well? I have an '04 Recon and thought the brake light bulb was burnt out. Sounds like there might not be a brake light, only a tail light when the the lighting system is on. Good info! I'll have to check it next time I get an opportunity to ride.

I bought a brake light kit for a TRX450 but there was no instruction manual. Looks like you have one that is similar. Any chance you could post the installation diagrams? Thanks.
