I blew the head gasket on my 440 and I wanted to take it apart this weekend but my service manual I ordered for it 2 weeks ago still hasn't showed up.I need to remove the cam to get to the other 2 head bolts from the looks of it,but Im not sure how to remove the cam or the timing chain, any help would be great.
Thanks,Tom

Place the piston at top dead center on the compression stroke. Check the positions of the camshaft marks to make sure the engine is on compression stroke and not the exhaust stroke. Remove the cylinder head cover. Remove the camshaft chain tensioner. Remove camshaft end cap. Remove one of the sprocket bolts. Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise one revolution to get to the other sprocket bolt. Free the sprocket from the camshaft and remove camshaft. Tie the chain with a piece of wire so it doesn't fall into engine.Remove the camshaft bearing stopper plate. This info is out of a haynes manual. There are some pictures but scanner not working. Hope this helps anyway. Goodluck
