Honda already dominates every type of organized ATV racing. Why do they need too release a new machine? No one beats them now......

Because the the last 250R came of the line 12 years ago and the time might be right. Not everyone want to buy used if they want a quick Honda racer.

Honda just released the first 4-stroke PWC. Do your really think that they will come back out with a 2-stroke ATV? Not likely....
Why should Honda jump into a big-bore war with the other companies? 2-strokes and small 4-strokes make better racers. Handling far out-weights power for racing....

I think Honda's going to sell a bunch of the 250EX's. It's only competition is the Blaster, and look how Blaster sales are doing. I'm definatly going to get one as soon as I have the money. I have a recon right now and use it heavily for jumping and I've even taken it to a local MX track with my friends. I'm very happy that their coming out with a "sport" 4-stroke that fits me.

I totally agree with you cstark. Honda is going to make a KILLING on the 250EX. This quad will either be for the wife, or the child. Do you guys know how many people there are out there... Dad's got a 400ex... and Sonny's got a TRX125.. Not exactly what the child WANTS. The 250EX fills this gap, More speed than a TRX90, Easier to ride than a 300ex. It is PERFECT FOR WHO IT'S AIMED AT. Honda is the smartest company in the business as far as this matter is in discussion.

Okay all you people out there who think they just took the recan motor and put it in a 250EX frame your wrong! they gave it a new cylinder head design and new valve timing those increase power by 10 percent!

Dumb @$$ banSHEeboy, doesn't realize that the target audience, mostly young beginers, might want something sporty that is also easy to maintain. Or, if you aren't bright enough to understand this, maybe you can read something more of your language:
Sum peapole wood lik git sproty aTv that aint need werk aal the tyme thit is ezy two rihd 4 a niw rydor.

I just went to look at the 250EX at my dealer yesterday. This quad resembles nothing of a recon. The frame looks more open, and if you've ever worked on a recon, you know what i'm talking about. The suspension geometery is wayyyyyyy different, it's 1,000 times more plush than the recon. The engine doesn't even look the same, it's a lot slimmer looking, since their's not a pull starter and it's got a new head on it. The pipe on the 250EX is now a 400EX style pipe, so it doesn't have the recon's utility pipe. It's got aluminum wheels with red hubs which look awsome and save on a lot of un-sprung weight. It's plastics also look alot more appealing. Thats just from looking at it. Now, it's also got a different transmisson, which takes advantage of the new 10% power increase of the new head. It's almost 50 lbs lighter, which is a big difference if you've ever jumped the recon higher than about 4 feet. And from other review's i've read, i've heard this thing can do wheelies just by tapping the gas!!!

I can't wait to get mine, just need to sell the recon and make about another thousand over the summer!
