whats the biggest tire i could fit on my 250ex
me and my friends always ride in mud and he has a utility so its easier for him but im looking for tires to get in the future so i can get more ground clearance and i wanted to know about the tallest tire i could fit under my fender with good traction and what would last the longest because i have to ride about a 1/2 mile before i hit dirt to go to where i ride any suggestions or ways i could check how big of a tire i could fit.

Do you still have the stock 22" tires on now???
The thing is, if you get to tall you are going to lose your low end power (which you need in the mud) because you will be raising your effective gearing. I don't think fender clearance is going to be an issue with any tire that you can fit on the stock rims. If you really want to go tall, you may need to get some utility quad rims, but the little 250 isn't going to pull anything that is to big or to heavy.
I don't ride mud, but when I need a tall tire I run ITP Holeshot XCT's.
You said you have to ride 12 miles to hit the dirt, does that mean 12 miles on pavement???? My first thought was Mud Lite SP's, but they are 20" in the rear and I don't think they would last long on pavement.
