1998 Honda 300FW

The kit was like $99 from Rocky Mountain ATV. It takes about 20 minutes to intall and gives about 2" of lift. Doesn't sound like much, but it makes the difference in getting over alot of stuff that would have had me stuck and high centered before.
The rims are about $35 a piece, also from Rocky Mountain. They're ITP steel oem replacement jobs, I only got them cause when I rolled my bike, I thought a had bent one of my rims. Turned out I had bent the rear axle instead. But they look better than the factory ones and they're a bit heavier too.

Hey, I found them steel wheels on rocky mountain, i just just need to measure my stock wheels. What do i measure for the wheels? Cause the steel Wheels only come in 11x6. I am surprised how cheap they are! Only 36 bucks

The fronts are 6x11 (4+2 offset) and the rear 7x11 (2+5 offset) Bolt patterns are 4/110 . The ITP part numbers for the rims I had were 11641F up front, and 11741R in the rear, and I beleive Rocky Mt. uses those part numbers too. To verify it you can check out the ITP '08 product guide here:

They have all the specs for factory wheels on just about every bike ever made. The 300FW is on page 66.
I find Rocky Mt has good prices on alot of stuff, and free shipping orders over $99. the only thing they will rob you on is accessories. The rack bag and two fender packs I have that would have cost me over $120 at Rocky Mt, I found the exact same gear at Pep Boys and it only cost me $45 for all three.

I see plenty of em but rarely ever for sale. That's a legendary machine, and I cuss every time I think about how I sold my 97. As far as upgrades, there's the usual exhaust, k&n filter, and rejetting the carb. A big bore kit can be had from several places I'm sure, if you want even more out of it. Don't think there's a cam available, at least not from what I remember. I know if I had one again I'd throw an oil cooler on it and good 25" tires up front with 26s in the back.
If you want to make a mud-diggin monster out of it, there's a few people modifying them with a gear reduction from 300ex parts. Not a job for an amateur, but it's worth it if you want a 300 that'll spin the really big tires well.</end quote></div>
can you give a link or explain how to do this gear mod....or at least more about it

you can find a lot bigger selection of parts at http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/...CatId=&np=&mmyId=3437
.
even though some of them are cheaper at rocktmyatvmc like the 424 kit ...wich allows you to shift from 4X4 to 2X4 and back on the fly... a sweet mod that i have on my 97 300FW .....denis kirk has slightly cheaper steel replacement rims and offeres more mods like high lifter springs that replace the stock springs adding lift and increcing payload...and a front brake drum to disk conversion
