The main jet does nothing for idle, it only comes into play when you open the throttle and the needle raises, letting more fuel in. Either you need to go up one on the pilot jet, or the fuel screw needs to be opened up a bit, or you have a partial plug up in the idle circuit. First remove and clean the carb spotless, then set the fuel screw out 2.5 turns to start, and see how it idles. If the idle is bad, but gets better when you turn out the fuel mix screw, then adjust that until the idle is smooth. If you have to go to 4 turns before it idles better, then you need to go up on the pilot jet. Have you opened up the air box, or are running an aftermarket pipe? that will lean out the motor and you will need to jet for it.
