2007 420 rancher winch

what is the best winch for the 2007 420 rancher. I am looking at 2 of them on ebay for around $130 to $150. The rancher doesnt have much room so it hast to be small to fit behind the bumper. If anyone has a pic with on can they please post it

I like WARN winches, the 2000lb model has performed very well over the last 10 years on my foreman, although for the extra couple $$$ I'd have the 2500lb model as the switch gear is alot nicer and most of them come with synthetic winch rope instead of wire rope.

Dunno what they are like for durability, but they are similar to Superwinch which makes a pretty good winch. Again, dont buy one with less then 2000lbs, anything is better then nothing when your stuck by yourself.

I purchased a Gorrila w/ the syn rope, 2500bl. for my 420 and have been totally satisfied. Everyone says they are a spiten' image of the warn winch. A little tricky to get mounted. You have to remove the plastic cover over the push bar and take the push bar loose to get it in place, No big deal.

I have a 1500 Warn on mine and was told by Honda that that is all they recommend for the Rancher due to people stretching out frames by chaining the bike to a tree or something. Also, on account of the smaller space behind the bumper, they had to crack the winch open and spin it 90 degrees so the release lever is almost up on top of it.

purchases the 3000 lb viper max off e bay for mine...came with mounting plate and all the hardware ...... complete kit was about $160 shipped and all.......has been a quality product backed up by excellent customer service.

Gorrilla = Garbage
Warn = a good time while riding
I have been through 3 gorrilla winches. This first 2500 would not lock up right out of the box, they sent a new drive shaft and gear. Stated they knew there was a manufactuer defect. Repaired it, lasted for only 1 ride, sent it back got a new one. It locked up also. The repaired one was shipped back to me and I gave it to a friend to put on his 420 AFTER his 2000 gorrilla failed. The repaired one failed shortly on his bike.
I bought a RT25 and so did my friend, wish we had done it the first time. The only good thing from Gorrilla is the winch plate.
Spend the money and save the headache!!!!!!!!
Warn fits nice and tight in the bike. You will need to trim the front pushbar plastic to make the fairlead roller bracket and the ends of the winch fit.
