Default adding EFI

I was just at my ATV rider course (the 1st time I've ever made $50 an hour) and I noticed every one else having a tough time starting their atv. I almost felt bad pushing the button of my 420 and it firing right up. Then I remembered that I built a Megasquirt EFI controller for my old muscle car. Has anyone ever thought or tried to install one of these on a quad. Wouldn't be much advantage over carbs except for cold starting and and eliminating buying power commanders when you upgrade the exhausts. Also, I read somewhere that the 420s don't really compensate for temperature. Something about them having a very basic map that works in a general temp range. Can anybody elaborate on this? I'm open to suggestions and reality checks.

If any ATV can not start right up they should get it fixed before adding a EFI anyways. Hard to believe your ATV class had so many Lemons ATVs gathered all at one time in one place .

To many carburetor, motorcycles, snowmobiles,ATV ,boats, car, lawn mowers, chainsaws ,airplanes*list goes on forever* to blame a carb for for a machine (Any machines) not starting right up.

Honda only has 2 ATV with EFI in there entire line up,does that mean the rest have a hard time starting?

It maybe that the people at the ATV course, are just so new to ATVs (After all its a ATV riding couse) that they are just failing the "Start the ATV up part. LOL

well their atv having starting issues was what got me to thinking. I know that a well tuned carb is pretty awesome to beat for reliability. My thinking was along the lines of not having to spend the money for a power commander for a carbed quad.

well i know my 400ex with a carb is a bear to start under 50degs....and its tune very good

my 420 with fuel injections starts great at any temp.......most people with hondas that i know all have a hard time starting them when its cold

it dont get any better than fuel injection.

Some ATVs are hard to start for some because most people aren't familiar with every model out there and therfore aren't familiar with the starting drill on those machines.

Mine starts up easily in temperatures colder than a ATV was really intended for. Even my snowmobile which I would guess is made for cold weather has 2 carbs. They would not be much fun if they did not start.
