Default 96mph possible on modded 450r?

First, that 450r will not pulls a wheelie in fifth gear. If anyone says that, they may need to be cut off from the beer. About the 96mph. Some people like to say this. I've been clocked. Who clocked him? Right.. It's possible if there more to that motor than just a 14:1 which does exist. He's need at least 55 to 60 horses to get some where around 95. So. First ask him what grade fuel he is running. If it's not 105 or higher than he is BSing ya. 14:1 needs at least that if not 110 straight up. That's crazy compression. It's it eletric or kickstart? He ain't kick starting that motor too easily if it's a 14:1. Anways, check this site out and it will answer some questions. Take Care and Ride Hard!

Those dyno runs can not be 100% accurate for a few reasons. The 450R stock is supposed to have 42 HP, where as their initial stock bike run only runs 36 HP (which is what the 400EX is rated at). So that alone shows little to no improvement over stock with a 13.1:1 piston AND a cam, along with full exhaust (even the head worked bikes were marginal gains with new pistons and cams in them). Whoever Dynoed this gave some very weak dyno numbers, unless 4th gear is killing it, and maybe Honda is running in 3rd gear, or under a different load. Just saying that these dyno runs show no improvements compared to what the STOCK bike runs. They clearly had something missing in this dyno run, but I am not sure exactly what it is.

* another thing to note is that the Hot Cams stage 2 cam takes the stock 450R from 42 HP to around the 46-47 HP range, so how did they only acheive this with a pipe, a higher comp piston, and racing fuel to compensate to the higher comp (which produces more power) as well as that same Stage 2 cam?

I believe top speed for the 450R stock is 78. I would have to agree with the orhter folks here, without some serious gear changes, 96 is not happening. I think with the HRC I can top out around the high 80's, not that I would know as I don't exactly carry the GPS in my pocket, but I have had it pegged a few times...</end quote></div>

The stock 450R is 72-73 mph, and you are NOT hitting high 80's with the HRC kit. Unless you change gearing or rev limit, you will not run any faster than 72-73 mph.

I have seen numerous publications putting the 450R at 76-78, right along with the YFZ. I think the most recent was the DW 450 Shootout that put them both at 78 exactly, for what its worth. Add the extra HP, and a sprocket change, K&N filter and some exhaust(not that HP translates into speed) and I can positively argue that it will indeed get into the 80's with ease. Maybe not 89 or even 88, but in the 80's nonetheless. But no need to split hair's, say it does 85 or 86, that is plenty fast for even the seasoned rider.

You have faster acceleration. Motor work only gives you acceleration. Higher RPM's and different gears give you speed, there's no arguement there because you can not argue that. Unless you change front and rear sprockets or get a new rev box, you can not run any faster (on top end, you'll acheive faster acceleration, or a more responsive throttle) no matter what you do to the motor. 9,000 RPM and a 14/38 gear combo will only go so fast, the only thing motor work changes (exhaust included) is acceleration (ie: how fast you get up to the top speed).
