Im almost certain but I'll ask just to make sure. Does the engine oil also lube the tranny. So there is no seperate tranny lube that needs to be changed. Asking cause my bike can be real hard to shift, drove my friend's raptor 700r the other day and you can't feel his shift.

Ihave a 2005ez400, it uses the same oil for the Engine an trany,Mite want to check you clutch linkage,Also try Honda syn 10/40 motor cycle oil on you next change,or a good different brand,I like Bey-Ray ,but the chose is yours,If the clutch is draging that will make it haed to shift!! I havent had any problems with my 2004&my 2005 EX,s.You mite have a broken clutch spring, or if you put a HD clutch pack in,some times the springs are to stiff.I will stagger them,I stock&1 Hd and so on. Hope this helps.Eddie.

The Honda 450R is the only quad that seperates the engine and transmission oil. (Not sure about the new 700XX????)

Your EX shares the oil between the engine and transmission. This means your oil unfortunately has to do double duty. Transmissions thrash your oil at high pressure....
