Hello .First time posting. I have been reading the forum for awhile and came up with a problem I couldnt find an answer to.heres the story........ My quad started smoking real bad .I had changed piston and jug ,when timed the first time it tapped real hard. I brought it home and hadnt gotten around to doing anything else to it. well now weather is getting better I went out to check the timing (have read most of the post about it) My probluem is when I look in the small hole I cant find anything to line up. I know I had turned the flywheel many rotations but no mark was found.

 

it's hard to see, its best if you get a drop light or flash light and shine in the hole and slowly rotate the crank. it should be on the round surface of the crank the best i remember.
