Has anyone modded the spark arrestor // restrictor on the stock 2001 300EX muffler? I'm looking for a little more exhaust note as well an inexpensive performance gain, until I can afford a new headpipe and muffler. TIA...

 

You can remove the spark arrestor/restrictor and your exhust will be major loud without major power improvements. It will be mostly irritating.

 

It shouldn't be too loud. I heard a 400EX with the Sparky taken out.. I loved it. When I get mine, That's the 1st thing I'm going to do. LaTeR

 

I removed the spark arrestor on my01 ex and its not major loud or irritating, it has a deep rumble to it, it seems like it hits redline a little quicker. I like the way it sounds.
