Again quoting Quad they tested it in the desest and did not like it at all, they and myself included think it will be better suited as a trail machine!</end quote></div>
They tested it at Dumont, which isn't really a valid "desert" test at all. Out there, you have the monster dunes and the very rocky (as you can see from the pics) Amergosa River wash (yes...that is what passes for a "river" in the desert), but as for real desert cross-country terrain, there is none out at that venue. So, no it really has not been tested cross-country.
It did get desert raced by Wayne Matlock (????) in a D-36 desert race. Can't recall the exact results, but I think he had some mechanical problems (????).

I thought that the suspension was rather plush on the trails Like i said the suspension really handled the deep ruts on the trails.
As far as coming of a whoop at 70mph i would probably roll but the so would any other wheeler. The irs may not be perfect for dessert i have my 450r for that the 700xx is more set up for those rough trails. Hopefully i can get off of work early and ride it today again. I am a surgeon so work is a little more important than going wheeling.

Just seems like they went the wrong direction with this one, if it was trails quad they were shooting for. When I think of a trail quad, I think 300EX, 250EX, or Recon, and now the Raptor 250...something that fits between the trees easily, is light, has slick handling, and ultra maneuverable.

Congrats on being one of the "firsts." I am interested in updates as you get more ride time as well. As for the initial media reviews, I have also seen a few that raved about the power and said the suspension was a little stiff. It is hard to compare 2 machines unless they are being ridden back to back, but at that weight it had better have some ponies if it is going to beat a 700R in a straight line. In the dirtbike, that is a pretty stout motor, time will tell though.
And where are the PICS!!!

I think a better comparison would be between a Polaris Outlaw w/irs, Honda 700XX and a Kawasaki KFX700!</end quote></div>
And the Scrambler and so forth...
Seems like the 700XX and Outlaw IRS are sorta out there by themselves.
Directed at the guys that ride rocky trails, and washed out logging trails, etc... guys that are out of their 20's like me that want to sport around and have a better ride.
At least it stands to reason it would ride better and bottom out less since it doesn't have a straight axle.
I don't know... just some of the thoughts I've had about sport + IRS...
