Default My new 700xx

Im new here i just thought that i would join beings i just bought a 2008 honda
700xx.
I have always been someone to buy and try the new stuff on the market so when i heard about honda's new 700 i knew i had to buy it. First off i just got it yesterday and have only been able to take it out once. It is definatly a torque monster. compared to my 450r it has a ton more bottom end. I absoultely love the irs i was going through all kinds of ruts without bouncing all around the trail.
In the dunes the 700 has a very high 5th gear and has alot of top end. Without a doubt it was worth the 7563$ out the door. The only complaint i have is that it seems to be a little wheelie happy. Also i can feel a little vibration coming through the foot pegs. i would have to say it would flat out leave my 450r in the dust in a drag race!!! i am eager to go to the dunes and race my buddies 700r this weekend.

It really isnt 505lbs that is the curb weight. it really dosent feel like a heavy pig it actually doesnt feel much heavier than my 450r even though its a extra 100lbs.
I am 75% sure it has more than my buddies 700r and i have driven his many times. I really hope i can win. But either way i know i can lose him on the trails.

I just got the new Quad magazine today and the tested the 700XX they say it is nowhere nere a 700R in power. Some [not Quad] people say it is closer to the output of a 400-450 quad.

Because of the weight allone it does Not take much to see it wont keep up w/ a Raptor!

Its only about 55 lbs more. The raptor might have more top end but in terms of lowend to mid range its gonna be close. The 700xx is a torque monster especially on the trails i thought that my 400ex would lug down but its no comparison.
Like i said if i lose in a drag i will still own the trails!

There is no way it is near the output of a 400-450 class quad especially in the terms of torque and lowend acceleration believe me i know, it will leave both of my other quads in the dust.

Actualy Quad said just the opposite. They had a hard time finding the right gear to stay in because of the lack of torque from a 700 size engine. On the Raptor you could ride in third gear stab the throttle and it will plull you out of about any situation.I can't wait to ride a 700XX but by all the reviews I'v read it does't look too promising!!!! Ok, where's the "this topic useless without pics" smiley
Congrats on your new ride, glad you like it. Wierd how some say it has very little bottom end, and some say (like you) it's a torque monster. Guess I'm just gonna have to take one for a spin. How's the suspension on the trails? Plush? Harsh?

700XX-Where are you located? I would be interested on you opinion on how it handles big desert whoops. Seems to me the IRS rear end would not be any advantage (and the weight would be a huge disadvantage), seeing the point is to come off a whoop straight and not sideways.

Also, what do you think about body roll while hitting a sweeping turn at 70 mph???

Again quoting Quad they tested it in the desest and did not like it at all, they and myself included think it will be better suited as a trail machine!
