Hey I'm Sprenger
I'm thinknin about buyin a left over 2006 Honda 400ex. I just would like to know if there is anything wrong with this year of the 400. Like any unreliable parts etc. I think it is a pretty good deal and I'm lookin forward to gettin it. Anyone have any suggestions for mods that would boost the speed and really make it go? Like exhausts or sprockets, kits or suff like that?

Thanks- Sprenger

The ex400 is a good all around Quad, You can Pipe&jet it,maybe change the gearing,But it,s not a Hot&Rod,Best bet is if you want all out speed go to a 450 or 700, the Ex is Bullet-Proof!!!! if you leave it alone.I have 2 of them,a 2004&2005!!! Great Machines!!!!!!! I have a 2005 Banshee that I play&work on!!!!!!!!!!! Speed-Yes,Fast-Yes!!! But not a Turn key and Ride Quad like the 400,s.Luck=JMHO.Eddie.

Hey, thanks. Yea, yea if wanted all out speed and high maintenance I'd get the 450r. But I know I'll be riding trails sometime. What pipe is moderately loud and gives the 400ex a good boost of power through out the gears/rpms?
