Spark plug replacement
#1
Hello,
Newbie user. I recently sucessfully changed the oil/filter on my '01 TRX350FM and want to replace the plug as well. Just 2 quick questions;
1) im guessing a direct OEM plug replacement is ok
2) is it as simple as taking the old one out and putting the new one in?
Im sure this is a ridiculously easy question for everyone, but I am obviously not very mechanical just trying to save dealer maint dollars...and just want to be sure.
Thanks!

I would suggest ONLY using NGK brand spark plug - DPR7EA-9 - the original plug that went in it.
NGK plugs (as most Japanese made plugs) come already gapped, with at protective sleeve over the threads in the box..... A lot of people insist on re-gapping, but there is really no need ... IMO, pull your old plug and install the new one.
If you do not have the "tool" kit that came with the quad, the NGK "D" series plugs use an 18mm socket - if per chance someone has stuck an "off brand" like Champion in, it will use a 5/8 socket.

I run the Irridium version of the stock plug. On this motor, the plug is right there and real easy to get to....very easy to change.
Has it had a valve adjustment lately???
