just curious, do you guys think this could have ill effects to your transmission down the road?

How long have some of you been using this trick?

I guess that's a decent amount of time. I was wondering if anyone had been using this trick for 4 or 5 years or more without any harm.

Great photo of that expensive aftermarket device, it is quite an engineering marvel. Is that a little dirt I see on the brake handle and master cylinder. Just one other question, when you attach the zip tie do you press the red button in and pull the handle so the cable is under tension or just attach it as shown in the pic.

Just out of curiosity...why would you want to do this? I mean, pushing the button and squeezing the lever isnt *that* much of a nuisance. Persoanlly, having to lift the foot shifter up bugs me more, especially when in a water or mud hole and have my feet up on the racks...

yes you have to push the button to be able to put the zip tie on.

the only way i can see doing it is if you use the machine to plow

 

buddy of mine just got a clutch lever with the hot start. no more pushing a button and then pulling the lever. he simply pushes the hot start with his thumb and shifts into reverse.
