<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>nice bike can i ask what AT stands for? </end quote></div>
You can but I wouldn't be able to tell you, I would like to know myself. all I know is that is the top model in the rancher range, Compared with most of you in America I paid a lot for it as ATV prices in england are high, I gave £3800 for it with 31 hours and 191 miles on it.So when you convert that to dollars it is quite a bit.

The Rancher AT has a hydrodynamic transmission similar to the Rubicon, but smaller. If you Google "Rubicon Transmission", you will come up with lots of info on this very unique design!
Don't want to burst your bubble, but the AT was discontinued after only a short production run. Perhaps it was priced to high for those shopping in the 400cc market??? In any case, it has a reputation for not having a lot of low end power, and there has been a fair number of posts in here from folks who are having tranny problems....for what that's worth. Had you asked about the machine before you bought it, I would have recommended the manual tranny Ranchers instead!

I know that the At has had a few problems with the auto on the quad and that they were not made for very long. All Hondas are over priced here in england, I have also read that they are low powered in low gears but I can not see this but again it depends on what you are doing with it., I use mine for pest control so low power does not really affect me. My problems with auto gear change were due to my stupidity, I jet washed my quad and got water in the electrics and the other was I was towing in auto which Honda says you should never do. Had I of got a new quad I would not of gone for Auto as I see it as more electrics, more problems and this is why I tend not to use it in auto and just stick with the esp with works faultless. I suppose time will tell as far as reliability go's, but for now I am very pleased with the quad. The only other quad I considered was a Suzuki king quad efi, but I wanted a quad with a purpose built engine and not on with a motor bike engine put in it.
