Default What size tires for 04 400ex?

The original rims on my 400ex have 21x12-9 rear and 22x7-10 on front. When i bought the quad I got an extra set of really nice AMS wheels with it. I want to put these on but they need new tires. The tires on the AMS wheels are 22x8-10 on front and 20x11-10rear. So which ones should I buy? What is the pro's and con's of each? Also where can i buy a cheap set of tires online? Is there like a tirerack for quads lol??

Thanks

Welcome fast 5.0 I am guessing you are a mustang owner by that name. If I were going to get a new set of tires for my bike I would personally get either holeshots or razr's. As for which type of tread pattern it all depends on the type of riding and if the ground is hard packed or soft dirt. Either tire is a good tire and here are a few sites that I usually go to to get stuff (I haven't found a quad tire rack yet, but wish there was). Bikebandit.com,Rockymountainatv.com,http://www.motosport.com

yea i have had a mustang or two or three lol since i was 16. Currently have a 94 gt that was originally a 5.0 but i built a 347 stroker so i guess that equates to about a 5.7 liter with some go juice! But i havent driven her since last august and only put about 3,000 miles on a year. When I was younger about 7 years ago when there was a huge street racing scene i lived for modding stangs...now at the old age of 27 i have settled down a bit lol. But yea i was thinking razr's too but was pricing them at they are pricey! it cost as much for quad tires as my explorer lol. What do you think about the size of them?

the wheels that you have on them arent stock, but i have some maxxis razr 2's they are great for all around riding, at rocky mountain atv the are very cheap. but if those arent what you want i heard that kenda knarly's are good.

I personally would go with prob 21's for the front and 20's for the rear, but it all depends on your preference. Haha you are lucky if that's what it costs for your exploder my tires for my lightning are about 300 somthing, but lucky me I get a discount for working for the dealership. That sounds like you have an awesome collection of stang's there my dad has a 68 428 cobra jet mustang that I have in my pics. What shot are you running on the stroke? I am about the age you started modding you mustang's now, but have the lightning instead. The toys never end no matter how old you are lol.

I know all about expensive tires lol. I have been running 18's on my stang since 2002 when 18's were very expensive and they still are not that cheap today. I run BFG 18" drag radials in the rear which run about 180 each....but they only come with 2/32' tread on them....thats about 2 months of driving lol. If i buy non drag radials with full tread last time I priced anything bfg or michelin they were 250+ each. As for the shot....I run a NOS 5115-2 kit which is a single stage "dry" kit adjustable from 50-200hp with a jetting change. I usually run a 125 or 150 shot. Its a full weight 94 GT convertible with every aftermarket performance part you can buy for it lol.
