I have a 2001 400ex with 22in. tall rear tires. I am looking for nerf bars but dont no what kind to get or if they will fit. It has aftermarket heels guards on it and there is not that much space between the heel guards and the tires.

 

I put the ProArmor nerfs on my wife's 400ex and they have the built in heel guards, hers also has 22" tires.

Yes, I really like the way they mount on the quad. They utilize a longer bolt through the lower A-Arm mounting point as opposed to clamping to the frame.
That way they don't interfere with the full frame skid plate.
