Default 300ex left side crack in the case

The boy broke the chain and it put a small maybe 2 inch crack in the case. What am I in for to replace the left side case. I know I have to tear the motor apart but I have never torn the bottom end out of a bike. I have torn apart a polaris tranny and rebuilt 2 stroke but never any 4 strokes. Should I be better off to clean it up and sand the outside and try and JB weld it. Thanks for your help.

JB weld worked on my 250x cracked left case. I also put a thin strip of metal in the JB weld too so firm it up even more, just like juttin_15 said. Its held for over a year now. Its always nice to get a new cover, but JB weld works wonders too

here is what you need. Just ask the seller what it took to get it off and use that in reverse. There are more on ebay but this is a good example.
