Default HONDA RANCHER PROBLEMS

I have a 2000 rancher 4x4 es. i have had shifting problems almost since it was new . we changed the angle senser and the battery multiple times. lately it lasts about 15 to 20 min, then it stops shifting again any help. new angle sensor and new battery thanks

I THINK IT IS SOME SORT OF ELECTRCAL PROBLEM , IT IS THE ELECTRIC SHIFT THAT STOPS WORKING. BEFOR THAT IS SHIFTS FINE . ALSO NO CODES IN THE ECM....UNPLUG THE BATTERY FOR A FEW MIN IT STARS SHIFTING AGAIN/...

i had a problem shifting......had to keep pushing the button and it was the clutch....it only take 2mins cant hurt

how do u adjust the clutch i know there is a screw on the front case but which way to turn it and how much

loosen the nut turn the screw one full turn clockwise.....than turn it slowly counter clockwise till you feel resistance than quarter turn clockwise.


it also should be in your owners manual

OLD404~~~ will you post the result of the clutch adjustment? I am having the same problem on my rancher and am curious if this will work. Otherwise, its off to the shop on thursday.

MAY THE CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT , RODE IT FOR ABOUT 10 MIN BACK TO NOT SHOFTING. WHEN IT DOES THIS IT DOES NOT EVR TRYTO SHIFT. WE UNHOOK THE BATTERY FOR ABOUT 10 MIN IT STARTS TO SHIFT AGAIN.. ANY OTHER HELP??????????????

Not a Honda specialist but sounds like an electrical problem if it works after a battery reset.

Must be module that controls it or the acuator is sticking.

Default HONDA RANCHER PROBLEMS

Turn the key off and on several times, it usually works. If reverse is a problem, there is a connector underneath the trans that looks like a sparkplug wire, take it off, clean it, and put it back on.
