Default Questions About the Rincon

I read that the '08 Rincon has Traxlox 4WD, which will lock up the front diff at speeds under 6 mph when the ECM senses different speeds between the two front wheels.

So it seems that it has an automatic locking front diff under certain conditions, too bad the speed was set so low for it.</end quote></div>

I had an Arctic Cat with lockable front and I really wouldn't want to use it at much more than 10 mph. It can take the handlebars right out of your hands!

Default Questions About the Rincon

I wonder what Honda will do with the Rincon for '09? My first ATV was a Rancher ES, and I liked it a lot. I moved to Polaris for the IRS and Automatic Transmission, and True 4WD. The Sportsman has been very good to me, very reliable, works hard, plows snow really well, I use it all year long, -20 degrees to 90 degrees. If Honda had a lockable front diff, a lower gear for working, and possibly a twin cylinder engine, I'd switch right back.

There have been rumors that Honda is about to release a machine with locker, low gears, and IRS, but I don't think we will see a twin.

Default Questions About the Rincon

My Foreman (450 cc) gets 36 mpg. My friend's Polaris 700 gets 20 mpg so I think Honda is right to stay with a single cylinder engine. Maybe they ought to make their automatic transmission a five speed with a lower 1st geat and a higher top gear. I also think they ought to go to an air cooled engine. The places I go, if you bust a radiator hose or poke a stick through the radiator, you will probably not make it home.

That will be exciting for current and former Honda fans.

Yeah. I like Hondas, and the Rincon, but if they came out with a version with a super low low range and a locker I'd have to get one...
