Default tire number denominations

I'm looking at buying a set of tires and maybe rims for my 08 Rancher 420efi. My tire sizes are front 24x8-12 and rear 24x10-11. Looking at tires, I'm somewhat limited in what I can get with these sizes. Can someone explain what each number represents and furthermore, what numbers I could change to keep the wheeler's proper geometry? Can I go to 25 on both front and rear and not hurt the machine? I like the ITP XTR tires, however, they don't have my stock tire size. Help please

24=tire height 8=tire width 12=rim size.If it is 4-wheel drive then tire height needs to remain the same.you can go taller but height needs to be the same.in order for new tires to fit your rims then the last number needs to remain the same as what you have now.

On the sidewall of your ATV tire you will find star imprints. Each star equals 2-ply. For example: three stars on the sidewall of a tire means the tire is rated at 6-ply.
