howdy i recently purchased an 08 trx450er and was wondering if anyone knew of some do it yourself ways to get some more power and throttle response.

 

The HRC kit! It is the best bang for your buck. You get a new cam, header, uncork the exhaust, open up the airbox, jets, etc. The fastest 450 I know of, has nothing but a HRC kit on it.....

The kit will net you mostly mid and high end. If I wanted more low end, then I would go with the FMF MegaBomb header and one of the Q mufflers.

 

one of my buddys has one of those kits and it really did a lot for his but i do a lot of trail riding and some creek riding and wasn't sure if it would be the right choice for that.

 

change the front sprocket toothing( i dont know what it should be but you find that out) that will give you some throttle response. exhaust and intake.

Front sprocket if already a 13. That's my limit, seeing that a 12 can be hard on the chain.

Bottom line, if you are a trail rider, should have probably gotten a 400EX instead!

 

don't get me wrong. i like to ride trails but i can tear it up on the track to.
