Default Engine out and apart of my 01 Rubicon

So its been a while since I have posted any of my problems.... however, working on the quad got pushed back into the picture...

So I encounter what i expected...... I have a bad Hondamatic in my 01 Rubicon. I have taken the engine more than half way apart and have the Hondamatic out.....

If i didnt pay more of the bike I would have been in tears..... took the unit out.... spun the gears... heard a cracking sound and metal shards fell out..... then looked in the engine case and saw small metal filings.... eeeewwww

anyways, I am gonna get a new Hondamatic, but while i have the engine apart any suggests as to how to reseal the cases to avoid oil leaks and replacing parts to avoid ripping the engine out and part again?

Thanks!!

All we use is "Hondabond" or "threebond" to seal cases ..

i used copper RTV, according to my manual any rtv that works with oil should work fine. I don't have many hours on my engine yet so i can't tell you how it works long term.
